Darwin City Brass Band has been an iconic and valued organisation since its inception in 1981. Comprising 30+ volunteer musicians, Darwin City Brass Band reflects the diverse and vibrant communities of Darwin and the surrounding districts.
Darwin City Brass Band is an ungraded community styled brass band affiliated with the QBA.
Proudly supported by the City of Darwin, the bands identity as an accessible and essential community resource is built on a commitment in bringing live musical performances to all corners of the City of Darwin. From Anzac Day parades, community events, fundraising occasions, civic and ceremonial events, look for the band performing in a truly unique cultural geography.
Each year, the Darwin City Brass Band reaches an ever increasing audience with innovative musical programs such as the City of Darwin's ‘Bands In the Park’ Concerts series.
Darwin City Brass Band rehearses at it's own band room, 2 Abala Road, Marrara on Tuesday evenings between 7.00 pm and 9.30 pm. The Learning and Development Band also rehearses every Tuesday between 5.30 pm and 6.50 pm. Our Beginner Group rehearses between 4.30 PM and 5.30 PM. Craig McGiffen tutors our Intermediate Band and David Ambrose tutors our Beginner Group.
